About
Hello,
I am Robert Way and I have had a love for photography for almost as long as I can remember. I think it started back as a young child..... watching our parents send off rolls of film in the mail and maybe two weeks later getting actual prints back from the lab. The memories were thick. The laughter and conversation as we sat down around the kitchen table or couch as we relived those moments looking at our pictures.....Photographs are memories. As I got older a Polaroid SX-70 came into our lives. Now we could take photos and get prints developed right before our eyes. I was hooked. I wanted to learn photography, really learn the nuts and bolts of the craft and process. I took all the photography classes that were available at the time at school - both high school and at university.
Forward to the mid 1990's and I started a Freelance Photography business in Alaska. As many freelancers do I shot a variety of subjects. Weddings, Portraits, Sports.....For a few years I was the official photographer for the Fairbanks Figure Skating Club. I transitioned to shooting high school sports and team and individual images. Oregon State University allowed me to shoot at their Volleyball games and the opportunity to capture images of these amazing athletes.
Current interests include portraits, landscapes, seascapes, cityscapes, etc.
